Toru Ndoro Land Reclamation Dredging

Toru Ndoro community is a small village in Ekeremor LGA in Bayelsa State. The occupations of most people living there are centered around fishing, wood cutting, Selling wood for building, wooden boat building, petty trading, and others.  Being a community in the Niger Delta, the NDDC awarded six Lots of contracts for hydraulic dredging and sand filling (Land Reclamation) of some parts of the town.  Pre-survey setting out in Toru Ndoro, Ekeremor LGA, Bayelsa State Land reclamation is the act of getting new land. It is usually done in coastal areas. Sometimes it is also done in areas like rivers and lakes.   This ongoing reclamation was executed by Lad Energy and Equipment Services Ltd as a sub-contractor. The sand for the reclamation was pumped from a river in front of the community. Access to the community is by boat. A section of the reclaimed area of the community
